i plan to set up a pond, but dont just want koi in it or shubunkins etc

I was hoping to get something relatively large and predacious.

The pond is around 3m x 1.5ish and about a meter deep,

also i live in england so it can be pretty cold

Thanks

I used to keep Large Mouth Bass, some Blue gills, and Catfish in mine. Before you decide what you will be able to keep effectively, you will need to determine what the temperatures will be. Keeping a small Wels Catfish would also be very cool.

Try seeing if anyone sells grass pickerel over there, or some other kind of pike.

I'd say Smitty78 has the right idea there (mostly). I'd not pick the Wels as a pond catfish however cool it would be since it'd need a honest to goodness moat or lake when it gets to a decent size^^. Don't believe anyone who tells you fish only grow as much as the tank/pond allows for.

Jason says striped bass or stripers. Nice looking, hefty fish those are.

temps up here average around 10-12c , they sometimes drop to bellow freezing in winter. Summers are about 20-25 max really.

Would all of these fish be ok in a pond of about that size, where would i get em from. Im not a very accomplished fisher

Thanks

As long as you dig deep enough so the water doesn't freeze all the way through, all these fish should be fine during your winter.
