pre -killed how many...

How many pre killed mice can my BRB eat per week? Tonight I fed him two and it went well so should I just keep him on two or go down to one?

And Mina, you wanted to know about BRBs right? well I fed mine tonight and as soon as I uncovered him from deep in the aspen he struck at me. That isnt a problem at all because he smelled the mice smell in the air because i had them in the room ajar to his tank in the closet.

So what I can tell you is that their feeding response turns on fast.

And when he struck at me he did it really quickly I didnt get bit but i can also tell you he struck at me and before i even realized it happened was ready to strike again.

so I scooped him up into a container then transfered him to a feeding bin.

Once in the feeding bin i dropped a mouse in there and he lunged for it with such force and quick ness he ended up on the opposite side of the tank.

then when he struck at the mouse a second time, he nailed it on the head litterally meaning when he grabbed it he grabbed it so the mouse's mouth ended up inside of his mouse and it fit like a hand into a glove....it was crazy...I wish I would have taped it...

but i recorded the second feeding and it only lasted 8 seconds....I'll send yall a link to the video when its uploaded somewhere

Oh , I clicked on the links below "here are the pics" and I saw a chimp on youtube on one and a tornado on the other, I thought it was going to be your critter. It could just be me though

One rodent equal to or slightly larger than the largest girth of the snake every 5 days is what you should feed.
I'd suggest getting started on feeding rats now. They provide slightly better nutrition than mice.

I agree with the statement to move up to rats, I don't agree with equal to or slightly larger than the largest girth of the snake, I generally aim more for 2X girth or largest size the snake can get down. When I was breeding corns I typically tried to have them on rat pinks by the 3rd feeding and small rats (about adult mouse size) by the time they hit 22-24 inches. That allowed feedings to be at 1 feeding every 1-2 weeks, good growth rates and better (longer) digestion periods between feedings.
