For everybody who saw my last post about the correlation between the type of food a tarantula can get and how it does affect the tarantula, I've been doing some research surfing the internet and I found out there is a practice called "Power Feeding", as well I found it seems to be quite controversial(?) or a missed conception? So I wanted to ask you if you practice it, what experience you have with it, what do you think about it, Pros, Cons, and everything you know about "power feeding" a tarantula basically  Don't worry about the terms you use, the hamster on my skull can run very quickly when I'm interested on a certain topic.

Marco- power feeding is a term from the reptile hobby, I should know- I own them.

It is not something that applies to tarantulas. They will stop eating at some point, and that’s it.

Wish I became more large and powerful the more I ate... Instead all I got was heart disease 🤣

T's on the other hand just stop eating. As mentioned there is no power feeding tarantulas. Best you can do is feed them regularly and keep them at the individual species optimum temp for increased growth rates. This unfortunately also results in shorter life spans when you "force" them to grow faster. Though I can't site my sources on that and is merely hearsay on my part. Though the logic does follow when you consider ectothermic metabolism. Accelerate their environment and nutrition, accelerate their life. But idk lol🤷‍♂️

To add onto what @Kibosh said, feeding more frequently and with higher temperatures is thought to decrease lifespan. However, this difference is only a few months at most. For males of fast growing species this can be significant, but for pretty much all females except maybe some dwarfs the difference is a mere blip when compared to their total lifespans. There isn’t any data I know of that actually proves this though, simply experiences with growth rates. Certainly doesn’t work the same way as with snakes

In order to power feed, play ‘Power Rangers’ theme song while you feed.

Pro: It’s fun
Con: You can’t stop it
