My 4 month old Jack Russel mix is suddenly sick, and my vet's office is closed. She was at the vet wednesday for the last of her shots (including rabies) and we found that she has a localized case of demodectic mange which we are watching to see if it gets worse (It's apparently a genetic thing that is common in puppies). This evening, she randomly sat down, whined and threw up. A few minutes later, she sat down and whined more, threw up again, and has since done it twice more. Her eyes have been watery lately, but the vet thought it was a symptom of the mange. I have taken away food, but am giving her water in small quantities. She is currently laying at my feet (very un Quinn like). I have gatorade I can water down for her if that would help keep her hydrated till I can contact my vet. Is there anything else I can do for her till then?

Emergency Vet? A few vets offer emergency services even when closed, and are sometimes on call during the weekend. I do not know where you live, but I would take a look at google maps for emergency vets in your area if you feel the puppy needs to go right now to the vet.

Keep her well hydrated just in case it's parvo or a similar problem.

She is in her crate and seems to have calmed, but she did whine at me a few times. I don't have a way of getting her anywhere till tomorrow, but she seems ok, other then the war dry nose... Hopefully she'll be good to go tomorrow!
