So i have noticed that one of the two, the larger one actually of the 0.0.2 Thrixopelma cyaneolum slings (this one) i bought a couple of moths ago had a "weak" back leg, especially the one side and would not move as nimbly as it was trying to. The leg would noticeably get in the way and be bent in weird angles, but at the same time it is still mobile and if given time the spider will adjust it to a normal position. It just can't move it well or seem to put any real weight on it without it bending/buckling as if the internal muscles were not properly connected.
I had hoped it would manage to heal the issue with a moult, but it has gone through 2 successful moults without any noticeable change. It is otherwise fine, eating, moving stuff around, etc. it's still just the one/possibly two back legs that keep buckling away when it tries to put weight on it. Which probably only happens when it reacts to me disturbing it in order to feed or do maintenance, trying to turn around and scuttle away but getting caught on its own leg as it tries to turn. The articulation of the tarsus seems to be especially limited/weak.
I am debating whether i should make it autotomize the leg after getting its condition back into a good shape. If i act now it will be much easier for it to regrow the affected leg than if i keep waiting for it to grow larger, but at the same time i am weary of causing it further harm. Also, i have never read about this issue before so i would like to know what you guys would do if you were in my shoes. Thx.
