I voted "NO" I Live In florida and I do own large snakes and I also have all the proper permits that comes with owning these animals..........And in my city I do the nucense reptiles calls and from time to time I am called out to homes were people have these large snakes that can't care for them anymore and instead of releasing it into the wild were it would cause a huge amount of damege. The Humane Society calls me I have been working with reptiles over 20 years and know what these snake can do.

I wish people would take the proper steps and get the right permits and do there research before buying one of these awesome animals. If the state does ban owning these snakes there is going to be more and more of these snakes turning up in places were they shouldn't be,I beleave people will be affraid to getting fined or worse so letting them go would go on the rise ........ my 2 cents

Thanks to everyone who voted. When I first saw that poll around 75% of the votes were for "Yes," between the link being posted on various forums and USARK sending out an email about it, it has really turned around. This is just one poll on one website but I think we have done a good job letting them know that if they publish stupid stuff about reptiles they're going to hear about it.

I live in Canada, but I still voted "no". It's looking good though, now 83% of people of said no. In Ontario where I live, pitbulls are banned. The only people who have them are the people who got them before the law was passed. I thoroughly agree that it's not the animal, it's the owner. It's not fair to punish others for one person's mistake and unfortunately that happens far too often. I agree with the permits and I think Ontario should put permits into affect, but banning seems like a ridiculous solution. Banning will lead to a "black market" type problem with snakes. Just like here in Ontario with pitbulls, we now have all this underground selling of pitbulls. You can never solve a problem that way.
