This is a tank I made a while back and I now have something to put in it finally! I just got a male regalis from creeps&crawls and thought this would make a great little home for it. Does it look adequate? I haven't drilled holes for it yet so if anyone has any tips on hole size, number and placement, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks, it cost a pretty good bit to make it but I wanted to know if I could do it. It's only a 5 1/2 gallon tank that I got used from a pet store but now that I know that I can do it, I may try with a ten gallon. Any ideas on the ventilation holes?

The front is all 1/4" plexi so it was easy to work with. It cost probably $20 in materials to make and a couple of hours time with a dremel.

Where's the female? Is he mature? You gotta breed 'em, man.
They're common, but they could stop being that way if you don't hook him up.

If he's mature, any idea when he molted? If it was fairly recently, drop me a line if you'd like him to vacation down in Florida for a bit.

Cheers,

Thanks for the input Martin. The limb was just thrown in for soemthing to do. That was before I knew what was going to be in it. As of right now he's only been in it about an hour and a half. Garrick, he is not yet mature but I do intend on breeding him. It might be a little while before he matures as he just molted a few weeks ago from what I'm told. When he does mature, and after I attempt a breeding, I think he might like a vacation so I will keep you in mind. Thanks for the input so far.

Very nice looking tank, Python. What did you use to secure the plexi at the base? I've made one like this and used silicone on the bottom. Mine looks like crap though so I'm lookin' for some advice. The lock is a nice touch as well. Might have to use one on my next tank.

I used silicone to secure the bottom. A little masking tape around the perimiter helps to keep it from slopping over onto the glas. Just dry fit it first then mask around the edge on the inside, take it off, apply silicone, then peel off the tape. If it's not too thick it will turn out looking great with nice clean edges. The lock is nice since it sticks out far enough to use as a handle as well. It also keeps the things in that should be in and the things out that should be out. I am still looking to improve the design though. I think it could be better. Thanks for the comments.

that's a prety good idea. I will have to give that a shot. As for the branch, it was just thrown in after I finished putting the tank together. It sat unused for a while. I really didn't know what I was going to put in it until the pokie arrived in the mail.
