Hi, I've bought my first Poecilotheria metallica in Hamm few days ago. I've already have an adult regalis and young formosa, striata, ornata so Poecilotherias aren't new for me, but this one is first 'expensive' so I am going to ask you some questions.. My metallica doesn't want to eat anything. I gave her small Blaptica dubia (one alive, one killed) and two small dead Tenebrio molitor. I've placed them in different places on the box. I know that Poes likes to make a hungry-days but I'm affraid she doesn't have optimal conditions. Could U tell me if are those spiders very demanding? How about temperature and humidity? She has about 25C degrees at day and about 22 degrees at night. Humidity in box about 75%. If could U tell me any interesting and important things about this spider I'll be very grateful. Thanks a lot. Pics:

I recommend you keep the sling in a very small setup and graduate it into a bigger container as needed. Mine are all in small 20 dram vials with a zillion holes in the lid. I mist every other day or so allowing it to dry some between misting if needed and offer stunned prey. I take baby dubias and crush their heads lightly. Leave that in over night and remove if not eaten. Mine are kept beteen 74-76 at night and 78-80 during the day and they are all doing great.

I pretty much treat them like all my other pokies, but leave them in small small setups till they grow some. They just seem to feed better in that type setup.

I've bought she in a box about 12x12 centimeters and I though it is good. Tomorrow I'll take my metallica to smaller box. Thank you very much.

much better, that was way too big of a container. If its just a sling put it in a vile or film container til it starts to outgrow it. I personally use a combination of coconut husk with some Spagnum moss (just like vermiculite/peat moss). ALL SLINGS WILL BURROW and that is important to know. So you want something that is light and fluffy not compacted.
