Okay, before I post the pic I will admit that this was all my fault. I was a little too lax in the clean up of my roach(Discoids) bin and I got uninvited critters becuase of it. There were fruit flies in there as well as a very large number of these.

Now I don't know what the heck they are, but it is clear that they are not mites. But they are small like mites, well maybe a little bigger. Quick moving, and as you can see some of them are almost transparent(freshly molted?). I cleaned the bin out and turfed everything in it. These bugs were all over the floor, the toilet rolls, the cork sheets, everything. Does anyone have any idea what these are? They almost look like baby termites.
Any help is much appreciated. I am unsure wether I should chuck the roaches or not? I am not feeding these to any of my spiders anyway, I am still in the very early stages of starting the colony.

Those are indeed termites. I'd feed them off, but to be on the safe side you probably want to dump them away from your house ;)

Gak! How in the heck did they get in my roach bin? The holes are super tiny.

Well, I'm relieved that they weren't something like mites. But holy hanna I hope they aren't in the walls! I should have saved them for my slings, but I threw everything in the garbage bin outside.

Thank you for the quick reply Michael!

Cheers,
Laura

Those are definitely booklice. I've run into them before too, in my roach colony and in my tarantula enclosures.

I am very relieved. Thanks guys, that's exactly what they are. The pictures are identical.
Thanks again,
Laura

They also look like booklice to me, also called Psocids.

I stand corrected. I guess I've never seen a closeup of booklice... they look like the termites I used to feed my dart frogs :wall: MJ

booklice eats mold and mildew, so there a beneficial insect to your roach colony.:D

Yep, booklice, I just ID'd a bunch of these suckers that Mr. I sent me. The only potential problem is if you've got high humidity in your home they can become general pests, otherwise, they're just one more detritus feeder in your roach bin.

The other day I found a pseudoscorpion in very similar circumstances. Very exciting.

I released a pseudoscorpion (with young no less) into my roach bin hoping they would take off. Never seen any evidence that it worked though.
