While I was handling my A. Calcodes, I kinda stubbed my toe and tripped a little. Cause me to accidentally drop my Tarantula. She fell about 2 feet and landed on a sheet. She has no visible damage and is seemingly acting relatively normal. I've been checking up on her and nothing really seems to have changed. But I'm still terrified that something happened to her. Possibly internally. Please help me out somebody. I'm really stressed and scared because I love my spider :(((

Looks fine from the picture, can't tell you if anything is wrong other than that, you'll have to wait and see. Tarantulas don't often take falls well, least of all terrestrials T's like A. chalcodes...

Best thing to do? - Stick to observing it, don't interact with it for any unnecessary reasons, and don't handle the tarantula from now on. That would be a bigger benefit to it than anything else.

Only thing you can do is wait and see if she starts showing signs of damage or not
Alright. Fingers crossed

Yeah... I think I learned a valuable lesson from this

My Arizona Blonde Tarantula is acting very strangely. She is still actively walking but she seems to not be able to properly grip onto anything. Does anyone know what's going on?

No one can tell what happened if anything- you might have just killed your T as a result of your behavior, OR it might live another 20 yrs. Keep stressing the ride's not over.

Maybe just maybe you real someday realize what a bad decision you made. See you gave no choice to your T as to whether it will live or die, it RELIES on YOU for its LIFE. Clearly you didn't critically think how your behavior would impact an innocent animal's life while you were globe trotting across the house.

20 more years it may live, or 2 more days it dies, no one knows.

Wait and see... I mean, what would you do if it is injured? There is no spider surgery... So just wait and see. Had some falls from tables over the years... Nothing happened.
So you've learned why handling isn't the best idea and only for posers 🤣

Corn starch works to stop “bleeding”

Tarantulas are not a pet you hold. Treat them like aquatics. Nice to look at, fun to feed, handling Is detrimental to their health.

I have been extremenly lucky! Freak accident flipped my GBB’s entire enclosure off of a 3 foot table top and landed upside down! Aside from being visibly not happy and rightly so, they are like tanks didn’t phase! Take it as a lesson if it goes in your T’s favor and like others have said….best not to handle and if you must handle or rehouse better do it on the floor.

I agree. I have some great shots of some of my big Asian arboreals on my hand or arm, but those shots were taken during rehouses and I attempted to keep the spider off of me. But there is only so much you can do when a 7-10” spider is intent on exploring and gives no ducks about your brush.

op made zero mention of bleeding, in fact, op said there was no visible damage.
I do not think I would have ever came to that conclusion without your impeccable perception and immaculate powers of deduction. I could not have possibly made the statement for a worst case scenario where OP continues to be an irresponsible owner of theraphosids.

Not trying to beat you up, but you're leaving out critical information here. What was under the sheet? A bed? A pillow? The floor? A cinder block? The answer is what she really landed on. Sheets don't offer much cushion.

The sheet was dangling off a my bed. She grabbed on to it before she hit the floor full on and basically slipped a couple inches. She landed on a carpeted floor and I immediately put her away

That's really the best scenario. Glad to hear!
