Does anyone have any information on the original collection sites for Platymeris sp. (specifically "Mombo")?
I'm working on creating a very natural set-up for my colony since I need to transfer them now (they just reached adulthood). I know I've seen pictures on here of natural set-ups for Platymeris, but the set-ups seemed somewhat inaccurate to me since from what I understand they are found in savannah areas.

when i kept my assassins years ago i had all three ssp(white spot, red spot, mombo) each colony was in ten gallon tanks/sand(dry)/lots of corkbark, they bred in there, misted every couple of days, kept them wellfed(lots of mealworms, crickets)never had any cannible going on in each enclosure, they did great, just had too many,so i sold all of the colonies, but it was fun keeping them.:D

Yeah, that's basically how I'm keeping mine now, but I'd like to be able to create a far more natural enclosure. I'll probably be using a large hexagon tank, which I plan to fill with live plants and natural woods (I've found a pretty good source for African succulents and grasses).

I have to be honest with you though, I have no idea how you brought yourself to sell them. I wouldn't give up mine for anything! ;)
