Pink toe not webbing

Hello everyone! This is my first time posting :)

I have a wonderful Pink Toe tarantula who I have had for little over a year. It has molted once and I have a few questions.
My tarantula has not been a huge Webber and only has webbed once right before its first and only molt in my possession. It has been hanging out towards the bottom of my enclosure for the last few days and was wondering what this behavior could mean. I have been keeping up with humidity and temperature and believe there are enough anchor spots and hides for its comfort. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am worried it is stressed or something due to its lack of webbing.
Thanks! -Garagefairy

Hey, welcome. What temperature do you have the T at, and what are you doing to maintain "humidity"?

There are tons of threads about this exact thing, some of them within the last couple days.

Read through these and see if your concerns are addressed (I think they will be). There are also some really good threads about Avic care in the beginners sticky here:

Hello thank you so much!!! I read through these and they were really helpful! I mist the enclosure daily and keep a monitor in the enclosure as well to ensure accuracy !! It seems like it might j be hanging out n being picky hahaha my red knee is the easiest spider ever so I just get worried w my pinky

You’re killing your Avic!

Stop MISTING- it’s NOT A DAMN 🪴

You really need to read up on them here at AB.

Perhaps the decorations are not allowing it to feel comfortable.

i would add more fake leaves in the top to mimic a tree. It might feel like it has nowhere to web and hide.

Cross-ventilation is the priority with this species. Misting should only be done in a delicate way to provide drinking water. Water droplets placed on leaves and enclosure wall. Not a full spray of water.

your enclosure looks beautiful.

it might not be working for your tarantula. Perhaps remove the monkey and add a cork bark. The texture of the statue might be annoying it.

There is no need to mist or even monitor humidity levels. Avicularia thrive in DRY conditions with a full water dish - that's literally all you need to worry about as far as moisture & humidity are concerned. Misting can lead to dank, stagnant air in the enclosure, which is very detrimental to the health of the T.

I agree with above that you might see your T behaving more naturally if you switch out the statue in the enclosure for a nice cork bark flat angled against the wall. It's worth a try.

You didn't mention the temperature - if it's too low, it can cause problems.

Heya,

Thanks so much! Will do! And temperature is maintained and monitored without a headlamp

I second what some others have said about the decoration. While I'm new to Avic's, We had similar behavior with ours while waiting for some specific tree pieces to arrive. It wouldn't really use the decoration that was there to give him height. The same night we put in the tree and branch pieces, with some fake leaves installed he took to it immediately and the last few days will be found on the branches and behind/under the leaves.

As many others pointed out, STOP SPRAYING, let the substrate dry out, and provide a full water dish.
