Hi, I got my pink toe tarantula about a week ago. She’s in an 18 inch tall glass terrarium with side & top ventilation. In the first few days of having her, she was up in a branch with some leaves creating a web, but for the past couple days she’s been on the ground of her enclosure in the same spot. Could this be premolt? Or is she sick? Help!!

She’s been in the same spot for 2 days now. She’s moved her legs a bit but definitely not exploring. Here’s another pic. The water dish is the dark blue thing.

It’s a huge cage not that surprising it found a spot it liked .

it appears to be in a hunting position.

An avic wouldnt go to the ground to molt, if it had anything to do with a molt, the t would be webbing heavily.

You’re so right! I gave her a meal worm and she immediately attacked and started eating it. I’m assuming she was hungry. Thanks for your help!!

So far, nothing seems wrong. Its in captive setting.

it doesnt have much ground space but at this point, maybe it feels safe there.
Your tarantula looks fine. Its not in a tree but a cage. The bottom could be its top for all we know.

if its eating and just being, why worry?
