Hi! I'm having some trouble finding the resources i need. I'm currently trying to learn to sex my lsp tarantula. I know there is a whole forum with pictures that are high quality and detailed. But these are no use for me and i cant visually pick out what i need to look for. Most comments simply state male or female, but i would be so grateful to anyone who could politely describe or show me good or clear example for vent sexing. I've found good material for molt sexing, but not vents, yet. Having this information to practice would be so great. i know that i am looking for an extra pair of spinnerettes used by males. are these visible on the outside? Are they only visible under certain circumstance? Where are they located?

This is a good reference for genics. Males have that long fuscillae hair there that appears as a dark dot from not so close up. A few others do as well, but I couldn’t tell you which. Vent sexing is not my strong suit.

Thank you that is the exact kind of information i'm looking for! It's specifics that are hard to find mentioned. Can i ask you a specific question? About my recent attempt at sexing my T? I'm just not experienced enough to identify what i saw

Your best bet is to post it with the species and size in the link below, with a note of what you see. More peeps, and some much better than I, will see it. What I’ve noticed though is that it’s better to post those during the week as people check here less often on the weekends and it can get buried. Post it there and I’ll take a look (frowned upon to make separate threads for it), but molts are always going to be your best tool.

Read my response on this media post for a brief explanation of what you should be looking for when vent sexing T's, and a link to a page that does a better job of explaining it than I do:

What Species is an lsp tarantula?
Use the Scientific Name please. :)
Are you referring to Haplocalstus devamatha / Thrigmopoeus psychedelicus aka LSD Earth Tiger?

Thank you!
there is no such thing.

What you want to look at is the epigastic furrow.
Someone else helping described these as accessory organs that are frequently mistaken for spermathe. I'm not sure where i picked up the wrong description i was just having a very hard time finding clear information when trying to figure this out initially.
