I had a solfugid that looked just like yours a little while back. I had him(her?) for over a month, until it died from what seemed like old age. From what I have heard and experienced, you should consider yourself fairly lucky to have seen yours eat. Supposedly it is very rare to observe a solfugid hunting and eating, and I only saw mine eat twice. I am sure that you will enjoy your new pet!

really? well i got this thing sunday and it has eaten everything ive dropped in there. hm maybe u had a wierd one lol. but it is very cool though

Solifugae Galeodes i guess.

i've got a 2" male ,... by the look of yours i guess a female,...
to bad you live on the otherside of the ocean ;) :D

Actually, I think it's Eremobates, since he mentioned in annother thread that he caught it himself in California. That's the genus that includes most of the large NA species.

looks almost exactually the same as mine Galeodes from Egypte
very intresting creatures
