Pics of Ant Enclosures?

I would love to see some pics. on ant enclosures. and any tips on making a good safe escape free zone. and where i can get some ants to start with. Being how as they grow to large numbers fast do you have to ever re house or wut?

Blacklighting for queens seems to be effective for most. Tie up a white sheet and hang a blacklight in front of it - you'll get tons of visitors. The enclosures need to be cleaned out when they finally wear out the fluon/oil layer, or when they build up too much trash. It can be rather time consuming to do that change too.

I use the test tubes usually sometimes other things like just a container with moist cotton. (I'm all out of test tubes ffs). And I got a large P. occidentalis colony in a 10 gallon aqarium 3/4 filled with dirt. ;*)
Plenty of options almost anything can be used to house ants but test tubes are the best. ;*)
 
Top
