There are two spiders I am thinking about getting ... (I will explain it to my wife later.)
I Would like to see some shots of any Cyclosternum fasciatum in your care. The other is Pamphobeteus antinous which JP Version galdly shared some excellent pics of in another thread. Yes I know I can go look up all the pics in the world online but I would rather see yours and hear what you have to say about your expierence with these spiders. I am begining to really enjoy the Pamphobeteus family they seem almost a bit underrated...
anyhow looking forward to your posts-

he escaped for 4 months, and unbelievably, we found him in Mark's office, next door to mine.
Except for some dehydration, he was fine. Obviously, they are VERY hardy!
Here he is again

and here he is as a mature male, just before he was sent off.
They are quite skittish, but once they settle down, they are quite calm. Easy to care for, they eat like pigs, and again, they are super hardy.
Gotta love that bumble bee pattern!
Wish I had info on P antinous, but I don't have any pamphos!

yes, they will burrow, but are out enough, (at least he was) that you can view them often.
And, unfortunately, he was munched, and no eggsac produced ....

I have about twenty odd pics of my various C. fasciatum on my PC (which will be fixed by tommorrow sometime) It is by far my favorite species.. They are fast, a little bit of additude, but still easily handleable. I am trying to breed two of mine, and have a mature male, a mature female, as well as an immature juvenile that I haven't sexed yet. All three will take to handling, though the mature male I haven't handled since he hooked out. (He's a little sketchy since then) They all prove to be good eaters, and will tolerate extremes well.

Yah, my 1" has taken down crickets and waxworms bigger than it before! And when I was still feeding it pinheads, it would fang five or six at a time and stuff them all into it's mouth and start munching. Quite the feeding response! :p

I love the webbing and general bulldozing C fasciatum does as well as their overall beauty. Just very interesting bug bugs.

From my experience they are skittish and move alot of dirt around, not a burrow exactly just like a pit they sit in. They also web quite a bit.
