Thomas Vinmann is offering a Phoneutria spec. Does anyone have some more information about this species? Maybe I am ordering some.

Hi,

to my knowledge, Thomas is right now selling slings of P. nigriventer (former P. keyserlingi breed from Sao Paolo) and slings from my breed, P. spec., which might be P. nigriventer, too.

If it is P. nigriventer, it´s definitely a different colour form than the spiders from Sao Paolo, as the mother is extremely dark and lacks some of the "typical" markings.

As the mother is extremely big for P. nigriventer i´m quite curious, if the slings will grow to at least similar sizes....

Greetings,

Stefan

P.S. Should just be a matter of time, till even more offsprings of other Phoneutria species will be available.... ;)

The species that you mean is that the Phoneutria spec. Oyapok? Because Oyapok is by my knowledge situated in French Guyana. So Vinmann is offering these species as P. spec. Paraguay? Or am I wrong?
The P. nigriventer (former P. keyserlingi breed from Sao Paolo) are growing well. They are Instar 4 now.

Hi there,

well, no.

P. nigriventer is P. nigriventer.
P. spec. Paraguay, may be P. nigriventer, too, but it´s 1.) unconfirmed and 2.) if it is indeed P. nigriventer, it´s def another colour form.

P. fera cf Oyapok was a temporal name only, until the spiders would get id´ed, which happenend in the meantime: they´re P. reidyi´s. Offsprings should hit the market over the next months....

Any further questions? ;)

Greetings,

Stefan

lol, do i need to state the obvious? When oh when will they be available? ;)
Hi,

sorry, you are apparently reading more into it, than i wanted to express, at least, if you think i´ve something cooking and didn´t talk about.

From my own side, all Phoneutria offsprings that can be expected, are more of P. spec. Paraguay, the second sac should hatch every day now.

However, there are at least three different guys i know of, that have sacs of two Phoneutria species going, this is what i talked about. Donno, when in detail they will hatch, guess something like 8 weeks, a tad longer or shorter...

Greetings,

Stefan

Hi,
sorry m8. I got a little carried away. I´ve been following your pics in another thread and thought that they would soon be good-sized little fellows ready to take on the world and that you were doing a little advertising (though i doubt that you would even need to do that but i was a bit tired and didn´t think clearly). Sorry for that! :)

Cheers,
Stefan

Edit: Ok, let´s cut to the chase. Who might be selling slings of these?
