I'm getting a Phidippus Nikites sling next week. I'm not really finding much care info about them anywhere. Does anyone here own any or have any experience with them?

Probably the same as other low bush phidippus (most of the velvet ant mimics are).

Never heard of that Phidippus species. Wonderful colors. Jumping spiders usually have very generalized care and are very adaptive, I’m sure there are exceptions to this but the most basic care would probably be like most.

Is that what the orange is for? We get the orange ones in Canada too, but we dont have velvet ants here.
Yes, several species exhibit this red/orange batesian mimicry so i assume it must be effective. The entire johnsoni group have it, as well as some of the cardinalis and purpuratus groups (including nikites) and others but i don't remember them all.

Velvet ants are a widespread group but reclusive, you probably do and just haven't seen them.

I have several wild caught and I have found that they are very opportunistic feeders and rarely miss a meal. Fruit flies or house/ blue bottle flies will work fine. Also, try and keep them in a place where they get a good amount of sun.

How about humidity? What would you recommend?

In the desert, where they are found has low humidity. The average summer humidity is around 32%. I keep mine dry and they with no issues, but they must stay well fed for it to work.
