Personally, I have had P. audax egg sacs hatch in as little as a week! Usually about two or three weeks, though. You will see the sac darken noticeably, as the spiders go through their first moult within.
I'm really kicking myself for not writing down dates as i noticed progress on my audax's eggsac. It took roughly 4-5 weeks from the time of spinning the nest to the day the hatchlings were emerging on their own and ready to move out. It was 2 weeks at least before i noticed any change in the sac, and knew it must be fertile. I checked it twice a day by shining a flashlight through the webbing- after a time there were little black spots speckled on the inside.
