Phidippus life cycle?

Hello,
I found a female P. otiosus in my house in April and kept her in a terrarium, where she laid nearly 300 eggs. She laid the eggs in batches, about 100 at a time, which have been hatching over the past several months. I have been raising about 100 of her spiderlings. After the last batch of slings hatched (about 2 weeks ago), the female died. She seemed to slow down and stop hunting over a period of about a week before she died. I am hoping someone can educate me about the Salticid life cycle -- was it normal for the female to die after breeding? Or can they live beyond one breeding cycle to breed again? Of course I don't know how old this female was, but I would be really interested to know about their basic life cycle. Many thanks in advance.

Sounds normal. I have yet to hear of a jumping spider female living long enough to mated again after she's used up her stored sperm.

I noticed with the second female Phidippus johnsoni I had became really clumsy and stopped hunting or even jumping. Spent a lot more time at the bottom of her cage. She couldn't get herself out of the tiny bottle cap of water and died. I have 11 spiderlings left - most in 5th instar.
