I found this spider during the Oklahoma Field Trip and brought it home.

Now it has made an egg sac.

I'm jealous! I wish I could get those around here...

It certainly has gotten slimmer since laying eggs.

Thanks, I plan to send the egg sac to a friend that likes true spiders. I have too much other stuff that I dont have time to mess with them at the moment.

Though true spiders are very nice, the one thing that has put me of them is breeding. I am currently trying to raise some suspected Gnaphosidae (possibly Dysderidae) spiderlings that i found wandering around my house,
they have a 2mm legspan... and theyre growing way too slow for my liking( 2 months no moult)

Are you saying that you've found true spiders to be too slow growing for your liking? One of the reasons i like them so much is the fact that they grow so fast! Lots of species can reach adult size in under a year, which makes them much better for breeding projects compared to tarantulas and most other commonly kept inverts...

most do grow fast yes, but the little ones i'm caring for haven't moulted in 2 months and have been feeding daily
