From time to time, I sell or trade random things to petstores.

i am thinking of making tiny info cards to go with whatever i give the petstores

the problem is i feel these MUST be very succinct, otherwise i don't think people will read them.

so far, here's what i got:

am i leaving anything critical out?

common: [Honduran] Curly Hair
binom: Brachypelma albopilosum
care: mist 1-2/wk, substrate damp not wet
nice: among the most docile tarantulas
venom: minor, pain like bee, but NOT apivenom!
(note: these are 4i sold in little 10dr vials)

common: [Mombossa] Golden Starburst [Baboon]
binom: Pterinochilus murinus
care: dry substrate, waterdish
nice: fast, defensive
venom: on the hotter side for tarantulas, not deadly

common: [Brazilian] Black [Devil] Scorpion
binom: Tityus bahiensis
care: moist arboreal
nice: retiring, can be defensive
venom: DEADLY

common: [Brazilian] Yellow [Devil] Scorpion
binom: Tityus serrulatus
care: moist arboreal
nice: retiring, can be defensive; ASEXUAL
venom: DEADLY

common: AZ Devil / Stripetail Scorpion
binom: Vaejovis spinigerus
care: desert scorpion
nice: nervous, fast
venom: varies, not deadly or dangerous

common: [North American] Tiger Centipede
binom: Scolopendra polymorpha
care: moist burrower
nice: not really, no
venom: varies, not dangerous… can be painful

thats a pretty good idea. I hope the pet stores will keep your cards with the critters.

I only had one thing to point out.

instead of "nice:" would it sound better to say "temperment", "behavior" or something along those lines.

just a thought. :)

Great idea for petstores. Making sure the store is supplied with PROPER information since alot of stores dont have anyone familiar with inverts working there. :)

But, it might be better to word your venom as "medically significant" instead of "deadly" no? Or maybe try using the 1/5, 2/5 score that alot of us assosciate with venom potency?
