Pet Shop Searching in Florida!

Tomorrow I plan to go looking around Naples for pet shops. Ive looked on the net and I got the locations of one store called the Aviary and Zoo of Naples or something like that. It sells birds and reptiles among other exotics.

That one looks like the best bet to me. If anybody by chance knows any other shops here with exotics, please post their locations here so I can check them out.

I will let you guys know what I find!

Try Glades in Fort Myers. You can check them out at www.gherp.com. We stopped by there on our way through Florida last summer. Not really keyed towards displays, but they do have some neat species. All their scorps are in the hot room, so it pays to ask to take a look.

I forgot they were located in Ft. Myers so I will take a look. Im like almost an hour away from there though, but if I have a chance to kill some time, I will head over there.

Woohoooooo!!!!!!!

Just got back from Glades. Wonderful shop with wonderful people.

I got the following, but i shipped it home since I didnt want to risk any of them getting taken at the airport.

1 San Luis Potosi Kingsnake
1 Mexican Milksnake (I wanted a Pueblan, but this was the closest thing)
1 Rococo Toad (Like a cane toad, but not poisonous)
1 Scolopendra heros castaneiceps
1 Scorpio maurus

I will put up pics of everybody when I get home.

They had an EXCELLENT selection of scorpions, but I didn't want any hot scorps. It was also rather fun seeing their hot snakes. (they had a beautiful gaboon viper)

Glad you liked it. Did you talk to the invert guy? I forget his name, but you would know him by the fact that he just doesn't stop talking -- very passionate about his inverts.

You know Todd lives in Nokomis...not too far from Naples. You could drop by his house perhaps, although that would seem a bit weird hehe.

Nope. I didnt talk to the invert guy since I dont think he was there, but I did get to see all the inverts with a guy named Rob.

I don't think I will be dropping by Todd's house anytime soon

Anyway, it was fun, and I want to go back, but I dont have time

Now im really bummed out. He said he would ship the order monday for tuesday arrival, but the order got lost and now it cant be shipped out for another week. He also says he lost the charge among other things, but he found it.

Oh well, I guess I wont have them ship to me again since they seem a bit disorganized.

Im still debating whether I should drop by there before I get to the airport so I can take them on the plane with me.
