Ok, thanks for your help! I actually like the hybrid, not only for the color, but it lived longer than the pure fusca I had that were the same nymph stage as this when I first go them. So the hybrids live longer and I see that as a good trait.Sorry I did not get back to you on the "other forum" ...
This is a hybrid of Blaberus craniifer and Blaberus fusca. If you have any other roach questions feel free to PM or email me. Roaches are what I do best.
p.s.- the above photo of a 'pure discoid' is not a pure discoid either, but here we see what happens quite commonly- people buy feeder roaches and put them in with others not really knowing if they are mixing them or not, and more and more often contaminated species are showing up. Many of the Blaberus species can interbreed.
