Hi. I have 2 pet land snails. They have been asleep for over 2 weeks. Today, I took out the younger snail and removed the clear/white slim film woth warm water. The snail woke up and barely moved around. I gave the snail some celery and a grape and it won't eat either. I put the snail back in its enclosure and it went to the top and is going back into its shell to sleep. This is not normal for this snail. This snail is usually active and eats a lot. The enclosure environment hasn't changed- temp or humidity. Are my snails sick?

What type is it. What was the last thing that ate? If it wasn’t organic or washed super good, it might have made them sick. I would keep each in a deli cup with paper towel with high humidity and only feed organic and remove food after a day. If it’s wc then it might have a parasite

They are land milk snails. It's not organic food but I have been washing the food before feeding. The snail that is awake also just feel from the top of the tank and it had never done that before. I out it on a deli container with paper towel and some carrots.

I cant get the snail that is sleeping still of the tank. Its like it is glued to the glass. I dont want to pull too hard and it the snail trying to get if off.

Do not wash off the seal and do not pull them off a place where they're attached. You get them out of sleeping either by changing problems with their environment and/or maintaining the ideal environment, not by force.

The scientific name of these snails would be useful. Anything I might call a milk snail isn't native to the US. Anyway, if they're from a place with a winter, sealing up could simply be because they recognise that it's winter. Animals sometimes react to weather outside even if the temperature is kept up.

It could also be something is wrong for them and it's only now that they're reacting. How long have you had them? How are you keeping them?

Very curious as to what species they are and how you got them... in general most snails (even some USA natives) are pretty heavily regulated.
