Woot!!! I have been trying to figure out how the heck I am going to get my heat up in my 50 gal tub of B.Dubai 's without crankin the heat in my house.
So what I did was took a broken down ps2 and stuck it under the tub, that thing gets hot!! So I also put a couple of ice cube trays under each end of the tub to lift the tub off the ps2 so it dont have direct heat. It seems to work perf lol, and to think I was going to throw the ps2 out lol

heat up your container without using electricity

If you want to heat up your container without using electricity, use 4 inches of peat moss and put rotten vegetables underneath of it like carrots and other veggies, you can also put fresh but it will take a while after that pour water about 2 inches then mix it thoroughly make sure to put veggies back at the bottom next mist the whole tank heavily then cover your tank with a plastic about 3/4 of the opening. the process of decomposition is what makes it warm or even really hot 85 to 90 degree. your roaches will love the rotten veggies too. the only down side is you have to repeat the process weekly, when the decomposition ended the temp declines as well. lastly put your roaches back.

Awesome thanks for the replies everyone....

1) I also forgot to mention I use a heat lamp as well I just aim it to the side of the enclosure

2) I know about rotting stuff as I worked on a ranch for awhile, have you ever seen hay burn? However this is a good idea to stay "green " in the hobby , but I just dont have the time to do all that.

3) I have been looking for a "cheap" blanket but all I can find are seat heaters and they are like $129.00. But when I do find a cheap blanket out goes the PS2....BTW are you a reverand for real?
