Pepsis wasp pic

I just found a big Pepsis wasp in my yard while trying to catch a big pede that got out a few days ago. I saw the pede, outside, next to the wall of my house but it went into a hole in the wall. Then I saw the big wasp. This guy has an odor. A stingy odor! Man I bet the sting is pretty powerful !

That is a nice Pepsis wasp you have there. As far as the "stingy odor" thing, I think it just wants to kiss and make up

i caught one of those when i was five. ive had no idea what it was since then but now i know

I haven't been stung:clap: . Petty big one, I've see diff sizes of the same sp. in the yard. I caught it with the cup you see it in. I think I'm one of those people other people watch do stuff sometimes and say, "I can't believe he's doing that." Well, I'm going to let it go now, I don't like that perfume . That buzzing sound is giving me the rattlesnake shakes!

That's pretty dang cool! I was driving through far Eastern Colorado a few years back and I hit one with my car and it was stuck in my wiper until I got to Hays, KS. It was dead of course, but I had no idea what it was other than a giant purple wasp with gold wings the size of a small bird!!! I looked it up when I got home and thought, "man, it would've been so cool to go buy a T that looks unhealthy at the pet store and let these two go at it!" Of course, like I said, I would choos a T that was very very unhealthy looking.
