I am thinking about getting a specimen of said species, and id like to learn a bit about it as i cannot find much info on it. I'd like to know the usual, i.e maximum size, lifespan, humidity requirements if any and substrate. I have an A.bicolor, so im used to the precautions taken with the higher toxicity species, so thats all settled. Any and all help would be appreciated.

You can keep it the same as your A. bicolor. Also adult size is around 3.5" I think.

Cheers.

Depends on where you look. ;)

B.lamoral 1979 Scorpions of Namibia (Liosoma is not covered here, but other species can be considered representative) has a chapter of this genus PDF is on The scorpions files (there is also a species biography on this site). L.Prendini 2003 Systematics in the genus Parabuthus etc etc. The site of Eric Ythier has a table of captive conditions. The liosoma's of Egypt are larger then the Tanzanian ones. They are not as venomous as P.transvaalicus.

Nice species, I just got one (4th instar) past weekend. I like it...:)

Greets, Michiel

BTW, Fet et al changed the back into Parabuthus liosoma, Ithought in 2003.

I keep all Parabuthus and Androctonus the same, hot and dry.
