Panther Chameleon Colouration Question

Hi, I got a panther chameleon a few months back, and I was wondering if anyone was familiar enough with them to tell me what type of colouration to expect from him when he is an adult. I think he is about 6 months old or so now (5th or 6th shed as well since I got him).

(His mouth is fine, in the second picture he was about to get a cricket.)

No idea, bought at my LPS from a selection of 'Mixed panther chameleons' when he was about 2" in size.

I think it might be a female.

Looks like a Sambava female, but not 100% positive about that.

If it's female, don't expect a lot of color. Males are much more colorful. Also, full color probably won't be in until around 13 months or so. Here is a link that might help you identify the locale.

Congrats for sure! Furcifer are my favorite chams.

Nice female :) You'll have a hard time finding out the locale of your chameleon though since it is a female. Where'd you get her? What was she sold as? Also your setup doesn't look good enough for a cham. Could you post pics of your setup please with all the lighting and stuff?

The cage is a bit to small right now, but I blew 150 this month working on cages for my crested colonies (basically a 60 gal divided into 3 10 gal male cages, and 1 30gal female area). She has a defogger above, and a 160w Powersun UV light, with a lot of stuff to climb on. Next month when I have some more loose cash I'm planning on building a new half acrylic/half screen cage for her too. I bought her at Zookeepers, she was one of the 3 smallest in the group. Again, sold from a mixed panther group. Current cage is a large Exo-terra cage.

You should have her housed in an all screened enclosure(unless you live in Canada than it's ok) You need a 5.0 reptisun linear uvb bulb and a 60 watt normal house bulb for basking. Sorry I just want to make sure you're caring for her correctly, petstores can give false info and in the end the animal suffers!

impossible to know locale-so don't try guessing. But will be interesting to see how she turns out nevertheless.
