So here you go.. My lovely Pamphobeteus sp. esmeraldas.

She is a 5 inch female that is just under a year old. I purchased her at 2i.

I hope this pic helps potential keepers decide if this is a Pampho they want to work with..

If you have any questions feel free to ask.. Enjoy the pic of this amazing girl.

*Mod note*

I'm not creating this as a picture thread, it's meant to be more informative and hopefully helpful. Please don't write it off as a simple misplaced pic thread. Thanks guys:angelic:...

Ignore the empty water dish.. That's why I was in her enclosure, it's been replaced :)..

Really nice! Need to add one of these to my collection. What were the temps you were keeping her at and how often did you feed as a sling/juvie/sub adult?

These are eating machines, as a sling she would get 1-2 appropriately sized crickets every three days( this is my general sling feeding schedule ), as a juvie ( aprox 3 inches) I would feed her 2-3 large crix weekly or one large hissing roach a week. Now that she is 5+ inches she is getting adult male hissers every 10 days or so. I don't even bother with crickets unless necessary for T's over 5".

I don't use ac/heaters in my reptile/spider rooms so,they both range from low 80s in the winter to mid 90 for short periods of the summer.. I keep monitors and a few pythons and the heat from mainly the monitor lights keeps the rooms warm during even the coldest days of winter.

I just want to add this because it rounds off the basic optimal( IMO) care parameters for this species.. So, woth that said at 3+ inches I start to dry them out.. I only flood a small portion of there substrate once every 10 days or so.. They seem to do well on both dry or a bit moist substrate..

How long are the short periods? I made an incubator that can heat to low 80s, but I was worried if I put it up all the way it would reach mid to high 80s to low 90s (never had them at those temps before). I’ve been feeding just mealworms for the slings under 2”, and since I just got them last Tuesday and they were looking a bit skinny, I fed/offered almost everyday until last Friday.

I don’t own this exact species, I own a couple other Pamphos, do you think drying out their enclosure would work for them or would you not chance it?

We hit 90+ for at least a month every summer, sometimes it's just for short spirts or two weeks at a time..

I was talking to a field researcher and he says that pamphs go for up to half the year under dry conditions.. The humidity in the air goes down around 30%.. So, maybe start gently drying them over the period of 2-3 weeks or so and see how they react to it..If they seem to do better being kept a bit dry, keep it up.. I know for my girl and my only pampho, drier conditions seem to work better.
