This thread is dedicated to pairing tarantulas. So post what all species you have paired, in order from 1st to last. Happy pairing.

We have had 9 sacks the past few months since we started getting more serious about breeding.Half of the stuff I just listed is HOPEFULLY going to pop soon-ish.Biggest pain was holding back males and getting the timing right.

The "BREEDING REPORTS" forum is there for just that reason. GL.

I just did my very first pairing ever of my F P. irminia Elvira back on Nov. 18th with a loaner male. Pairing went amazingly smooth. Wanted to pair them more than once, but M wouldn't whip up anymore sperm webs and he had other girls waiting so I had to send him on. I hope it took. I'm waiting for my M B. smithi to mature to mate him with a friend's female and I'm currently looking for a MM B. emilia to pair with my girl Araña whos about to molt any day.

Vilurum...contact Ultum4Spiderz. He might be able to give you some info. I just sent him my MM G. rosie and he had a successfull pairing with one of two females he has. I don't really think he did anything special tho. Just made sure the female is well fed and male has made a sperm web.

In a nutshell...

Wait for male to make a sperm web,
Put him in the female's enclosure at the farthest end, and wait for action.
Be ready with some sort of tool to separate them if things go south.
Try again after another sperm web, and stop when the female becomes hostile, the male gets eaten, or you are satisfied with his inserts.

Be patient. This one's important. Don't try to prod them or something if they aren't getting down to business.

Watch closely as you pair to see if the female is receptive. If not you may have to adjust temps and humidity, or try an alternative method like "shark tanking", or mating in a neutral enclosure..

Look up YouTube vids too see what mating/courtship looks like.
Also here's the breeding reports for G. Rosea. Briefly skimming them, I can already see that there are some useful posts that are more than just lists of dates.

I wouldn't trust any info from Ultum4spiderz.

If something in my post doesn't make sense, google it or ask again.
Good luck!

Thanks again hobo very helpful, could you go into more detail about the sperm web?

Also I have read that when the Ts last molted is important? Could you explain that please.

Also your avatar pic makes me lol eveytime XD

Sperm webs are how males will "fill up" their bulbs with sperm, so it's important that you see (or at least reasonably sure) that a male has made a sperm web before attempting to mate.

It's important to know when the female last molted.
When a female molts, she also molts the inner lining of the spermathecae, which is where the sperm is stored. Any sperm from pairings will be lost during a molt, essentially ruining all your (and the male's) efforts. By knowing a females' most recent molt date, you can guess when her next molt will be, and decide if it would be worthwhile to pair her, or just wait for a molt before attempting. Obviously you would want to pair soon after a females molt, to lessen the chance of her molting before laying a sac.

Of course, for males, the fresher the better.

good stuff last questions I promise :D

How will I know what the sperm web looks like? Is there anything that stands out?

My Female has made a whole under ground tunnel system (who said rosies dont burrow) she gets very agressive when she is in there would that have a negative impact on the male or would still just putting the male in at the far ebd and waiting be ok?

well the sperm web will look like regular webbing only really thick, so it looks really white...and it will be all torn up....yeah you can toss him in the far end and wait...thats they only way to find out how she responds....and as a great breeder once told me..."It's not rocket science"

Ok well I don't see anything like that in the males tank so I just have to wait till it makes one?

Also I get what you are saying but as I understand, there are stupid questions and I want to make sure I understand it correctly and make sure I do it correctly I don;t see anything wrong with that :D
