painted turtle

i went out and caught a painted turtle today at the local bog, and well im keeping it in 60 gallons of water inside a large rubbermaid container....it has rocks for basking and im wondering is that suitable for him?

How big's the turtle? Are you keeping it inside or outside? The important thing to remember when keeping aquatic turtles is that they are MESSY. You will need hardcore filtering to keep the water from getting putrid.

its pretty big

s/he is pretty big...about 3/4 the size of a dinner plate...im keeping it inside. im getting a few filters to put in it in a day or two...oh and today i caught two salamanders ;P ;P

Don't forget the basking light (Around 88 degrees), and a UVB light.
