Hello all,

My frog is need of a cage cleaning which I'll do today or on tuesday. I recently started to see regular grain mites in the water dish and upon closer inspection there is some on him as well. I'm just curious if anyone knows if these could be dangerous in any way to the frog? Irritating the skin? Maybe just stressing him out?
Also, does anyone know if there are any parasitic mites for pacman frogs found in the hobby? Thanks in advance!

Catch some that have been on the animal and squish them. Not red brown, non parasitic. Getting rid of the mites is a beast. Total clean out of environment and you must locate where they came from.

Thanks. Definitely just white. I squished a couple of them. I've had infestations in other enclosures but I knew where they were coming from. I may have have some preds still floating around in other enclosures, unfortunately due to how often I have to clean this they'll never take hold in the frog's tank. I'll clean it out Tuesday and see if I can find out where they're coming from. There's possibly a poop log in there I missed or maybe just some pieces of the pac attack that came off while he viciously mauled it. Thanks for your input!
