Is she mated? you can actually see embryos from parabuthus sp's after some time(weeks/months) if there mating session is successful.

Good day how to know if your female p.transavaalicus is pregnant or not base on its abdomen? heres mine.
If the scorpion is in later stages of pregnancy the membrane on the side of the body will be fully stretched and it's possible to just see the young inside the mother through the thin membrane.

DO NOT mess around with the scorpion checking, (a) It's a highly venomus species (b)It will stress the mother too much.

Also in your photo it looks like the scorpion is trying to burrow, add more substrate and a good hide so it can hide away, then LEAVE ALONE.

TAKE CARE when carrying out maintenance etc.

If it isn't mated and isn't an adult it may just be premolt. Is it refusing food? And how big is it?
