I have a P. regius female who is maybe in her 6th/7th instar, she is still black and looks a lot like a male or a P. audax. I got her from a reputable seller as a female. How often does this happen? Will she ever turn another color?

I'm not too versed on P regius, as all the ones in my area are audax. Are female regius supposed to turn grey/silvery as they mature?

Yes, I have two others. They have more coloring and patterns. I have a white phase and an orange phase. I have heard of one before that still stayed black, but I dont know if its very common or not.

I’m not sure about the development of Phidippus regius, but I do know that females can in fact be black.

There can be black females (for ex. from the bahamas there is a nice, black, colour form and they rarely appear when you breed "white" bahamas).

Can also be a male, makes me very curious how he figured out the gender female pre 6th Inst. All you can do is guessing, which is far away from reputable.

I got her from Micro Wilderness, but she was very tiny when I got her. I can send pics with my macro lens, would that help confirm it? She did recently molt too which I have, but it is very tiny.

Feel free and we can do some guessing too. Curious what colour form it is.

I finally got pictures of my jumper. Some are blurry but I tried using my macro lens to get the clearest shots I can.
It has very visible setae tufts, thin palps, and not a lot of fringing on its legs. But because of the all-black coloring, I'm unsure if its male or female.
Here are some pics. It finally came out after molting and has been quite shy. Thanks a ton!!
