Hey all,

I've just got a quick question. I know that P. Regalis can co-habitate with one another (generally speaking) as that I've got one and have done much research on it. My question is whether or not a P. Regalis and a P. Metallica can co-habitate. Part of me thinks yes, because they're of the same genus, but I'd hate to be wrong and have one, if not two, dead poecs. Especially two as beautiful as those. Any insight that you would be able to give would be spectacular. Thanks guys!

both arent the more communal species of the genus even when with same species co-habitants.

Regalis IS one of the more communal species. But I still agree that those two cannot live together. The result would be one victor, and that would be who ever was bigger.

it's a lot like saying two species of cats, like tigers and lions can cohabit :)

Well, fair enough but Ray G would disagree i think (though hes successfuly raised a load communal.)
we had talked about pokies communalTheyr more problematic than most, metallicas are prbably the least communal
TBH, its not too bad, but i for one would expect more cannibalism than say pederseni or something

I've heard of regalis being communal, too.

I might even get a mind to try it someday...after I have a sack of my own ;)

Hey keep my in mind if you get a sac. I am expecting a sac to. It would be cool if our sacs were staggered some. Then we can swap and maybe have two blood lines growing up together. I really want to try it someday too.

Once I saw at a show a tank that maybe was a 30 gallon with 25 or so adult Regalis on one big U shaped piece of cork laying all over eachother mature males and females it was awesome. So I know it can be done.
