I've seen a few threads on this, but does anyone have tips on dorsal sexing ornatas? I'm struggling with this at the moment (and not quite sure where exactly to post it). At what size can they reliably be sexed? I have two siblings from the same sac that look a bit different from one another. The first one (Kip) is slightly smaller than Mowgli (the second one). I don't know how to tell the difference between individual variation and sexual dimorphism when these guys are small. They're each a little over 2in DLS. Help would be appreciated! 8999422394125311227.jpg IMG_20220130_165126270.jpg IMG_20220130_165126270.jpg

Way too small to be trying to dorsal sex P. ornata in my opinion. In my experience I tend to find them easier to dorsal sex at 3.5''-4''. But that's just me.

What liquifin said, you can't dorsal sex slings because they have completely different colors than their adult counterparts. I don't care to dorsally sex at all, a lot of times a male will look female right up until the last molt.

Thanks. I figured as much...I just really want to know! I'll just have to be patient and see what happens. I suspect that they are both males but who knows.
