i grow exceptionally tired of this argument. if someone is stupid enough to do something... because they saw it on the internet then i for one hope they manage to kill themselves trying to build a flame thrower to plans they found online. my only regret would be if they managed to spawn before darwin'ing themselves.

i personally think the species as a whole would be strengthened if we stopped protecting stupid people from themselves. there is coming a time, not too far in the future, where there will be no jobs for stupid people and they will just be a further drain on the planet

i am quite sure Tech knows what is going on with this species and has made a decision for himself. you might ask him where he lives, btw

The reason is not that im overly concerned by others wellbeeing. Im more concerned over the general public and more so the governments reactions when a person is bitten and perhaps dies as a result.
That sad it should also be mentioned that these spiders have a worse reputation then Poecilotheria can ever dream of - and some are true some are not - but its still a spider and if you are experienced enough you know what sets a spider off. That is why my condamnation isnt so hard when it comes to the wood picture.
I do believe that dangerous venomous animals should not be sold to anyone without good references etc. That way the less suitable persons cant get hold of the more potent species. I wonder how much a dealer check the person before shipping out a few Androctonus or Leiurus to someone unknown.

Thats kind of what happens in the UK with the DWA license and everything. But IMO it costs an unreasonable amount of money AND it covers many harmless sp of scorpion

His a southamerican? Still they have laws regarding terrarium animals in most countries. In Brazil its against the law to keep venomous snakes for example and against the law to keep non-domestic arachnids. Please correct me if Im wrong, but thats the info I got from a brazilian.

Its ilegal to keep any arachnid (not because of the venom, mantids are ilegal too), even a tarantula that enters your house
if i get bitten it cant be prejudicial to the hobby here because no one will know that the spider was captive

about the snakes, not only venomous
corn snakes for example are also ilegal

anyway i´m not keeping it (parents wont let me), just took it to feed and take some shots, released today :)
