Hey guys, I just want your opinion, advice and tips about this.

I have housed a pair of P. Metallica for 44 days in one tank. Through this course I never heard any taps/drums ( I rarely check on them ) only when throwing some feeders and removing boluses but saw multiple sperm webs throughout the 44 days. Today I noticed my fem that her abdomen is massive.

I don't know if she's gravid or because of the 2 Adult Male Dubias I left there. I can tell that she was the one who ate it since the remains was near her. The male is on the opposite side of the tank.

I also notice that the fem has no webbings at all. The Humidity on the tank right now is at 85% the substrate is also damp and no misting at all is this right thing to do?

This is my first Pairing and breeding project and I also heard that the gestation period of P Metallica is longer that other sp. I'm also covering the whole enclosure to get it dark

Does multiple sperm web means that the male did used what was loaded in there bulbs? or they expire and had to load again?

Opinions, advice and tips would be really appreciated. Thanks

I’d first separate the male from the female.
like 43 days ago...haha

Dont follow humidity numbers, they are not relevant....damp sub is what is important.

Tarantulas do not have a gestation period, the eggs develop in the sac, not in the mom tarantula. Any t can lay eggs quickly after mating, or lay them a long time after.

It just means he made multiple sperm webs.

Thank you for the response. I'll keep this in mind.

Already separated the male before this thread then about the sub I'm really keeping it damp and no misting

*Should I attempt to pair them again soon?
