Hi!
I just discovered that one of my P. irminia slings are different from the rest of the batch. Have anyone else experienced anything similar?

Beautiful! Did you purchase the batch or hatch the batch?

Looks like a conjoined abdomen (there were two egg’s that grew tougher like a Siamese twin) I know someone that’s a bit of wizard at making them see >Here<

Im with Fry.... Have you noticed an unusual number of spinnerets, book lungs or abnormal epigastric furrow on this spider, or is it just the pattern??

yeh, i remember
's post.
i think though, that if more people grew on slings and, maybe, took a closer look at each one it probably happens alot more often than we realise.

The mother belongs to a friend, but the male was mine, I got 50 % of the offspring.

Thanks for the links, very useful. I guess that is what I have, a conjoined sling :)

It has normal book lungs and spinnerets, don't know for sure about the epigastric furrow as the sling is still pretty small.

From your pic the sling looks normal to me. Maybe it just hasn't molted as many times as the others. One molt can make a big difference in colors and patterns.

They are the same size and has molted 2 or 3 times now (not 100% sure). P. irminia looks basically the same as slings and as adults (except ultimate males of course).

Whoa...

When I saw this photo the only sound you could hear was the sound of my jaw dropping on the floor...
Whoa... Never seen anything like that (on a suntiger)
It will be interesting to see if this pattern remains after the next shed.

Kind of looks like the silhouette of a web, now...(in HELL, with that fiery background).

Conjunction is supposedly similar to siamese twins, a developmental abnormality, not genetic as far as I know.

That's really interesting; be neat if you had a fertile female on your hands that could pass on that pattern.

That pattern is outstanding! I wonder if it is possible to get that result through selective breeding. . .there's a day coming when we breed "morphs" instead of focusing on species so much.

Not by choice, but I once had a P. irminia with 16 legs, and one with a split opisthosoma. Neither lived, but I keep them in a vial now.
