Hi Everyone - My T Kryptonite seems to be my P Cambridgei... been watching it 'self spraying' its enclosure... normal? I read it may be trying to raise humidity? Does anyone have any ideas? I fear i may have over done it with the misting so may rehouse just to be on the safe side. Please help. Im getting a migraine 😂

The stonking attitude doesnt help.

What do you mean by self spraying? No need to worry about humidity

Its odd.. like squirting water droplets every few inchs round the enclosure.. been watching it for about an hour. Its actually rather amusing but im still concerned.. never seen this behaviour before. Maybe its just a dirty protest 😂

It is likely excreting digestive fluids or waste. It's not uncommon among tarantulas. It is not harmful but requires regular enclosure maintenance to prevent mold or bacterial growth.

I'm almost 100% certain that your P. cambridgei is a mature male, so he's likely walking through the water dish getting wet, then tracking water around afterwards. My MM's do this all the time. It would also explain why he's giving that grasshopper a threat pose instead of murdering it (which a juvenile or female would do).

Edit - he could be leaking male fluids, too...
