I live in Southern California and was wondering if an outdoor enclosure for a blue tongued skink would be possible? I was thinking of doing it similar to my tortoise(not in terms of design or layout) but as in i put him outside whenever the weather allows and bring him inside at night since its not locked. And putting him in his tub inside where he spends winter and nighttime And goes to sleep. It’s on concrete so if i build it there digging out will never be an issue and it gets direct sun during the day. I just thought it’d be nice to have a nice big enclosure with edible plants and more space than i could ever give it inside. It’d be secure of course and made the same way my tortoise and turtle have their pens but it would probably have a metal screen over it since skinks can climb better than they can lol. Any thoughts? Since the weather in California is warm most of the year i thought it’d be something possible.

make sure to give it lots of places where it can go into the shade, direct sunlight is very intense. even in australia most reptiles are in the shade most of the day. also im not sure how much blue tongued skinks need humidity but it might be to dry outside.

Yeah thats why i was thinking since I’d have more space i can make more plant dense areas and larger humid hiding places
