This is "Buddy", he is a 4.5 year old Jack Russell Terrier that we got from a Jack Russell Terrier rescue organization. every time I look at him I get a big smile. it has been 4+ years since we had to have our last dog euthanized due to old age.

It's great that you got him from a rescue organization. It's always seemed to me that adopted animals make the best house pets. Good luck.

very nice looking JRT. You know to keep them busy busy busy with things, don't you?! They are super active dogs, that need something to do. I love them, but do not have the time they would take to properly train one. Our neighbor has one, that he keeps TIED UP in the back of his house 24/7. The poor dog is psycho by now. Whenever he gets away, he runs over to my house to escape. He wants desparately to play with my dogs, and to run run run. I feel so sorry for him.

we did a lot of research before we got Buddy. Buddy is house trained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and even though he is hyper he calms down enough to sit and watch tv with us. I walk him at 4:30 in the morning before I go to work and a longer walk in the late afternoon. it took him 1 minute to spot the breeder rats in the garage, I had to move the rats into the shed. I keep the animal room door securly shut at all times and he has no idea what is in there, I guess the inverts and reptiles don't smell like the rats do. he still can smell the rats in the shed through the shed vents. he will have a 60' by 15' kennel on the shady side of our house. we have really missed having a dog! we are now considering another JRT rescue, perhaps a spayed female for a pal for buddy.

that's awesome Ed...sounds like you knew exactly what you were getting into. I wish more people would bother to do that...then I guess there would not be as much need for rescues then :)
Both my dogs are rescues too. I wouldn't trade them for anything ;)
