Our little girl is coming home today!

Yep...that's right, we got another Chihuahua! Except this one is a rescue from some owners who "thought" they could care for a puppy, but couldn't...so im taking over!

Her name will be Sophie, and she is 7 weeks old and FULL of life! At 7 weeks old, she is almost the same size as my boy Zeke, who is 11 weeks...so she'll be bigger, no doubt.

Im assuming this will be our 3rd, and final dog, pet..whatever, lol. Seeing how we have a baby due within the month...my hands will be full! But regardless, it'll be fun, and im sure i'll enjoy it to the fullest!

And here she is, at home, after her first night here She did very well in her kennel all night, and even pottied on the puppy pad first thing once taken out. She's obviously very smart!

One question to anyone who has raised small dogs, when do they get their depth perception? She is about 7 weeks old, and she seems to not see very well far away. I cannot remember when Zeke got his. She has blue/green eyes, so im hoping it's not a permanent sight problem, which it probably isnt.

Thanks so much! I never thought id own a Chihuahua myself, none-the-less TWO of them! They grew on me pretty quickly though, they are a big dog in a little body, for sure! These 2 are already fighting for dominance, they'll get it sorted out

BTW how much do your chiwawas weigh? Mine I think is larger then the average one because he is a cross breed. Mine weighs 9 pounds

Im not totally sure how much they'll weigh when adult. The male will probably be around 2-3lbs at most, female about 3-5lbs. They are both about 1lb now. He's almost 12 weeks, she's 7 weeks.

Mine weighs 6lbs when I feed her, and 6.5 when my mom feeds her. I like to keep her on the slighter side as they are known to have back problems. She isnt spayed yet, but will probably be in the next few months. Thats when you really have to watch their weight.

She should be able to see fine, you might wanna get her eyes checked at the vet just in case.....

Yeah that's what I thought before getting mine, had rotts and pitbulls growing up, so I was used to big dogs. Chihuahuas ROCK!!!!!! I'll never be without one for the rest of my days.
