Hey JJJ,

This is our second one, the first one we had for 9 years when she got hit by a car.

We have had no problems with her. When we picked her, we got one without a ton of wrinkles due to skin problems. She hasn't had any problems with her ears or eyes either.

Ya, she is great, very smart and loving.

shar pei

i love these dogs so much in fact i seen a bear coat one this morning. swollen hock syndrome (amyliodosis)is the main killer in these dogs and can make them very ill to.done a lot of reading on these dogs and about there ailments but would still love one. a horsecoat one though, like they should be, shar pei means sand skin.
anyway beautiful dog. :D

I was talking to a couple the other day that had one of their Shar pei's die of swollen hock syndrome. That would be terrible, their dog was only 1 1/2 years old when it died.

I'm actually going this weekend to look at some pups, we want to get another one as a companion for my female. If I end up getting another, I'll post some pics.

No doubt Wayne, they are great dogs:)

good luck with the puppy search.dont no about in the usa but here, if the any of the dogs have shown signs of swollen hock syndrome then they wont breed from them, which is a good idea can only improve the lines of the breed.but you will always get the greedy ones who will breed from them, and its the poor dogs who suffer, and the owners who have to watch there dogs have this painful condition :(
anyway hope you get a beautiful healthy dog that has a long and happy life :)

Cute dog. I figured you had ironed her out to look nice for the pic. :)
