Well tonight at around 930pm my mom called me downstairs because our gravid beardie, Eliza, had buried her back half in cocofibre, so we put her in her lay box. Within 15 minutes she was digging, and then the egg laying started...

Here she is all dirty from covering her eggs with dirt:

Her new, slimmer self after being cleaned up:

The eggs:

That's 32 fertile eggs. I told her she was only allowed to lay 24, because that's how many indents I made, but she apparently wasn't having any of that. The whole process took her about 2 hours.

The babies are obviously going to be really smart, because well...

And here's daddy:

In about 70 days hopefully we'll have a bunch of cute beardie babies!

Thanks everyone!

I'm afraid that I won't want to sell any of the babies because they'll be so darn cute, haha.

She just kept pumping them out...and when Mackenzie was digging them out he'd be like "okay I think I reached the end....oh wait, nevermind, there's more". In our book it says the record clutch was 60-something eggs.

We will be selling them, however, we live in Canada so unfortunately we won't be able to sell any to you :)

58 days later...

And they're starting to hatch. So far we have 17 in an aquarium running around.

The other ones should be coming shortly, but I thought I'd share some pictures of the cuties!

It's hard to imagine that such big guys came out of such little eggs (the eggs double in size by the time they're ready to hatch, but it's still pretty amazing!)

Some are a lot lighter than others, it's cool to see the colour variation.
