Backstory: I displaced tons of Orb Weavers when I trimmed down the privacy hedge the other week. Been feeding this one female that took up residence in the car port.

The other night I found a male, and put him near her web. The other night I saw him drumming on her web line and she was drumming back, but it was too dark to record the mating.

She's been hiding and getting fatter ever since, so I assume the pairing went well or maybe she just ate him.

Photos aren't the greatest, I know.

I suspect Metepeira spinipes but I'd like a second opinion.

Looks like it could also be Neoscona crucifera, behavior and web shape is not like M. spinipes
