Hello, I'm back with another Central Asian isopod to identify. Found this guy (gal?) walking around on the porch. He's kinda flat. Any ideas what this one is?

Thanks!

Not sure what critter that is, but I don't think it's an isopod because of the number of legs and the segments on the body. Isopods are crustaceans, and they usually have several pairs of legs that fall close behind one another. Your critter looks like it may be a type of roach, beetle, or maybe a scale bug? I've never seen anything quite like him, but a very cool find!!

Shoot, you are right. Idk why I suddenly forgot the 7 pairs of legs thing?? That's one of the coolest parts about isopods. Thanks!

Scale insects are a pretty diverse group and include some surprisingly large species, like those in the family Margarodidae.

This is probably a member of the genus Drosicha, like this:
