ok, so all of my life, I thought that this
was a daddy long legs/harvestmen

but I just found out that there are other things called opiliones that look like this
I have been turning rocks over for I'll say 15 of my 21 years of living. and have never seen one of these until this afternoon.
mine is slightly different, and I will take a picture with my girlfriends camera (hers is alot nicer than mine) when I can.

they look like the poison head crabs in half life 2

now, is the second one also considered a "daddy-long legs"? or what?
also, from what I've read it seems they will eat nearly anything, even plant matter? thats pretty wild.

Although both are harvestmen, the name daddylonglegs is generally reserved for Opiliones in the family Phalangiidae. The first picture is definately in Phalangiidae, the second may or may not be, not sure.

Oh, and they're arachnids. Wrong forum!
